Friends wattmeter mainly consists of two coils. The first coil is called current coil and the second coil is called pressure coil.
The current coil of the wattmeter is made of thick wire and low turn which is always connected in series order between phase and load. Due to the thick wire and low turn in this coil, its resistance is very low. We can check its resistance with a multimeter or series testing board.


The pressure coil of the wattmeter is made of thin wire and high turn due to which its resistance is high. And this coil is added in parallel order of supply. Like the current coil, the pressure coil can also be checked with the help of a multimeter or series testing board.

A wattmeter is used to measure the power of a circuit. We measure the actual power of the circuit using a wattmeter.

The wattmeter is always added to the circuit in the series-parallel order. The current coil of the wattmeter is added in series and the pressure coil is added in parallel.


To measure the power of any electrical load from a wattmeter, the current coil must be connected in series with the load and is necessary. Any load should add phase to current coil and neutral to pressure coil.
