The Ammeter is always added in series in the circuit because the resistance of the current coil used in the Ammeter is very low.

If the resistance of the Ammeter is kept high, when added in series to the circuit, it will drop the voltage of the circuit, which will give less voltage to all equipment and machine and reduce their efficiency.
