In this post, we have told you how are Voltmeter Connected in A Circuit | If you also want to know how we connect a voltmeter to the circuit, then this post is of your use. Here you can see the circuit diagram of connecting the voltmeter to the circuit and make the connection.
How Are Voltmeter Connected In A Circuit
Voltmeter is used to measure the voltage of a circuit. The voltmeter is connected in parallel in the same circuit. If we accidentally add the voltmeter in series, then the voltage of the entire circuit decreases.
The voltmeter is always connected in parallel in the circuit because the pressure coil used in the voltmeter is made of thin wire and high resistance. If we add the voltmeter in series then the voltage in the circuit in which it is connected drops.
The voltmeter measures the difference between the two voltages of the circuit, which we call the voltage. That is why it is added in parallel order.
With a voltmeter we can measure the following electrical quantities –
- Electric Motive force
- The voltage
- Potential Difference
